Job Description:

Camelot Education, a leader in providing special education services, is recruiting Teaching Assistants for our Therapeutic Day School in Mount Prospect IL.

Our Mount Prospect Campus serves students who are PreK-22 and provide quality academic and therapeutic services to students with SED/BD/LD as well as a program for students with Developmental Disabilities including Autism. Students are supported by a team of professionals that include School Administrators, Special Education Teachers, Social Workers and Related Service Providers, such as OT and SLP.

We are seeking caring individuals with a desire to help students achieve their goals to join our team.

Teaching Assistants work closely with the classroom teacher to ensure that individualized programs are being followed and progress towards IEP goals is met and may serve as a substitute teacher. Teaching Assistants also will work with students on an individual basis providing academic and behavioral support to students in a therapeutic manner. The Teaching Assistant will provide crisis intervention and support as needed.

Experience and Skills:

Candidates must have:

• Bachelor's degree in Education or Human Service field
• IL Substitute Teacher License (formerly known as a Type 39 certificate)
• Experience working in a school setting preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills
