POSITION: School Nurse - Temporary for School Year

LOCATION: Central Middle School

STARTING DATE: TBD

PRIMARY DUTIES:
  • Nursing services required for the care and health of all students in the building. Carry out the daily functions of a school nurse, including but not limited to:
    • Be on call for emergencies
    • Provide nursing care for DAP/KCCS students to include daily meds, prn meds, tube feedings, and nursing assessment
    • Administer basic first aid
    • Dispense medication
    • Maintain appropriate documentation
    • Maintain appropriate documentation of medical care and daily medication administration in eSchool
    • Record keeping of student files to include medical history and medical updates from MD visits throughout the school year
    • Reliable, punctual, and prepared to help facilitate the school experience
    • Communication and collaboration with school team, parent/guardian, and MD related to medical needs and care of the student
    • Accompany classes with students with medical needs on field trips
    • May be reassigned to another building if daily nursing coverage so requires
    • Additional duties as assigned by District Supervisor, and Principal

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BSN degree
  • Certified or eligible for a School Nurse Certificate
  • RN - Current State of Delaware license
  • Experience with students who have moderate behavioral difficulties preferred
  • Experience with Middle school students preferred


Standard Requirements::
  • Favorable Criminal Background Check for the candidate who is offered employment
  • Tuberculin skin test
  • Mandatory direct deposit of paycheck
