About Communities In Schools:

Communities In Schools (CIS) matches at-risk students with the specific resources they need to beat the odds and stay in school.  We have been perfecting this work for four decades.  In 2018, we are a beacon of hope in the lives of 1.56 million students in 2,300 K-12 schools.  CIS works inside school systems with superintendents, principals, educators, and other personnel, to forge community partnerships that bring resources into schools and help remove barriers to student learning.  CIS addresses the whole student—physical, psychological, and social needs—and the whole school environment.  In five years, we will be closer to a future in which every school district, national charter management organization and youth-serving community-based organization in high need communities will have access to resources that foster Integrated Student Supports inside schools.

About the Role:

The Principal, Business Development leads responsibilities associated with transforming the public education experience for vulnerable students in new geographies across the U.S.  He/She will aim to expand CIS’ reach and deliver school and student impact by replicating the proven CIS model and test out new avenues for scale through licensure and external professional development.  He/She will expand the ways in which CIS works with school districts, charter management operators, and community-based organizations, enabling the organization to reach new markets and unmet needs of students in poverty, to influence educators and policymakers to see student supports as a “must-have” in public education while generating earned revenue for operations.
