TITLE: Technology Services Engineer

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. CompTIA A+ Certification.
  2. Minimum two years of training and/or experience in technology support environment.
  3. Experience with Windows 7 and up.
  4. Familiarity with visual basic and PowerShell scripting.
  5. Excellent problem solving skills with computer hardware and software.
  6. Advanced knowledge/experience in Microsoft Office applications and related software.
  7. Excellent multi-tasking, organizational, and management skills.
  8. Excellent oral and written communication, facilitation, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.

LOCATION: Central Business Office

JOB GOAL: This individual provides district technology support, works with limited supervision, and has the competency to troubleshoot and solve a wide variety of software and hardware problems. Technology Services Engineer stays on assigned tasks and documents time in the field via the District's helpdesk system.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Performs repairs and maintenance of technology throughout assigned location(s).
  2. Install, maintain and troubleshoot various classroom and office equipment to include but not limited to; desktop, laptop and tablet computers, network and direct connect printers, projectors, interactive whiteboards and audio systems.
  3. Troubleshoot network and/or internet connectivity issues.
  4. Install, upgrade and support a wide variety of educational and productivity software.
  5. Provide assistance to staff members in the use and/or troubling shooting of software applications and hardware.
  6. Consults and responds to school staff who experience technology difficulties. Maintains an excellent customer service demeanor toward our customers.
  7. Follows established procedures and guidelines regarding technology reporting, maintenance, purchasing, and communication.
  8. Maintains confidentiality and demonstrates excellent public relations.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires lifting of up to 50 pounds, use of a ladder, and frequent kneeling/crouching to work on technology equipment.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve-month year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board of Education.

EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.

Start Date: On or about 1/2/19

Reports To: Information Systems Manager

Salary Range: From/To: Salary determined by the Board of Education.

The following are conditions of employment for new employees:

4. Documentation of Mantoux skin test results for entrance to school system.
