    Staff Needed: One (1) School-Based Supervisor of Bilingual and ESL Instruction (Anticipated)

    Nature and Scope of the Job:
    The Supervisor of Bilingual/ESL leads the development, organization, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of the Bilingual/ESL instructional programs to ensure that all students meet and exceed the State Core Curriculum Content Standards and Common Core Standards. Achieving excellence requires that the Supervisor works collaboratively to lead and nurture members of the staff, and communicates effectively with parents, members of the community, and colleagues in other districts and schools.

    Qualifications:
    • New Jersey Teacher Certificate in Bilingual and English as a Second Language (ESL)
    • New Jersey Supervisor's Certificate
    • Must hold a Master's degree from an accredited college or university; Bachelor's degree or advanced case work in Bilingual/Bicultural/ESL Education preferred
    • Must have at least five (5) years experience as a teacher of Bilingual/ESL
    • Knowledge of the New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS) for Grades K-12
    • Knowledgeable of the assessment specification of the PARCC Math/Language Arts assessment, ACCESS for all ELLs, as well as all Benchmark assessment
    • Develop and provide training on Bilingual/ESL curriculum as evidenced by student achievement on state assessment
    • Ability to model various instructional strategies to improve both the teaching of all elementary courses as well as student performance for General Education and EL students
    • Ability to collaborate with General Education teachers and support staff
    • Ability to interpret and assist classroom teachers with analysis of data
    • Outstanding skills in instructional strategy and planning in Bilingual/Bicultural/ESL instruction
    • Exceptional ability in working with other staff members to develop instructional strategy and planning in Bilingual/Bicultural/ESL instruction
    • Demonstrate knowledge of the Application for State School Aid (ASSA- October 15 th Count), LEP, Waivers, LEP Exits, and other State mandated reports
    • Must have excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative
    • Demonstrate excellent organizational skills and the ability to motivate people
    • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of curriculum development and program evaluation, child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment and diagnosis, and research related to learning
    • Exhibit a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community
    • Demonstrate the ability to use electronic equipment for data management, information retrieval, visual and audio presentation, and telecommunications
    • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, with students, staff, parents, administrators, and the community
