Job Description:

Excel Academy of South Shore is currently accepting applications for an Academic Coordinator.

The Academic Coordinator is responsible for organizing the master schedule, and providing roster updates to Teachers and Team Leaders and maintaining the official rosters and student records. The Academic Coordinator also visits classrooms, offers instructional coaching and model lessons for Teachers and facilitates common planning time effectively implements the round mode for instructional coaching. Additionally this position is responsible for successful completion of all required standardized testing, monitoring grade books and acting as a liaison between Camelot and outside agencies, families and community partners.

Excel Academy of South Shore is an accelerated programs address the growing problem of overage under credit and at risk high school students. Students range from grades 9-12, and are supported by a team of professionals that include leadership positions, credentialed teachers and behavior management professionals. We are recruiting creative, compassionate, caring educators to join our staff, eager to help our students excel academically and achieve post-secondary success.

Camelot Education is a nationally recognized organization providing educational services to children and adolescents throughout the United States. Camelot has over 40 school campuses located in six states and is continuing to grow. Camelot provides Alternative Education services to inner city schools for children who have dropped out of school, been expelled or at risk for either.

Experience and Skills:

  • Master's Degree in Education or related-field
  • IL Instructional Certificate (Teacher or Administrator)
  • Proven ability and working knowledge with Microsoft software applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong interpersonal skills and supervisory skills preferred
  • Experience working in the Camelot Model is preferred
