JOB TITLE: Classroom Paraprofessional
LOCATION: Fort Logan Northgate
WORK YEAR: 172 Days
SCHEDULE: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
WORK STATUS: Classified, Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Principal
POSITION SUMMARY:
To support the library/technology program by providing clerical and technical assistance to the Teacher Librarian, school staff and students in library matters; to maintain the library collection and resources, performing clerical functions related to the collection, maintenance and inventory of materials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Teacher Librarian with library/tech classes and other library related activities.
- Assist staff and students in locating and using materials, answering questions, gathering information as needed.
- Perform circulation duties including book check in and out, overdue notices and billing.
- Perform general secretarial duties including typing, filing, compiling statistics, preparing reports on scheduling, requests, bibliographies, inventory and other record keeping as necessary; maintain files and financial records.
- Maintain the shelves in an efficient, clean, attractive, order; shelving books and preparing displays.
- Assist the Teacher Librarian in assessing the collection, processing new materials, mending and repairing books.
- Perform other duties as necessary.

- One or more years related experience

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions required the following physical demands: Interactions with students, lifting 5 to 20 pounds, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling: and signification fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires frequent walking, sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping and squatting. This job is performed in a mostly clean and healthy environment with some noise.
CLEARANCE:
Must clear background check through the CBI and the FBI through Fingerprint submission.
SALARY:
Salary based upon Class 1 of the Paraprofessional Salary Schedule and is $12.19 - $13.66 hour based upon previous related experience. The annual salary for this position will be determined by number of hours scheduled to work each day and number of days scheduled to work each year. The computed annual salary will be spread out in equal payments over 12 months. Sheridan School District employees are paid once a month on the 1st working day of the month that is not a weekend day or holiday.

Employees who are scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week in the 2018/2019 school year are eligible to obtain district health benefits which include medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance and supplemental benefits. Positions that qualify for health benefits also qualify for leave which could include vacation and daily leave to be determined by the position and number of days assigned. Sheridan School District No. 2 is a public employer and participates in the Colorado Public Employees' Retirement Association (PERA). All employees are required by statute to contribute 8% of salary on a pre-tax basis to PERA. The District also contributes a 20.15% in addition to the employee contribution.
