The South Orange-Maplewood School District including the talented teachers, administrators, staff, engaged parents and community actively seek a gifted and experienced educator/administrator who will invest many years as the leader and master team builder of this historic district.  Vision, presence, a proven commitment to educational equity, and communication skills are essential for this diverse, creative, complex and artistic community.  

The next superintendent of this 7,000 student, Pre K-12 district must work with the Board of Education and the entire community to lead with transparency, consistency, continuity and student-centered, data-driven work. The superintendent must also have experience in moving the culture and climate while enlisting all professionals/staff to develop assertively and implement tirelessly a curriculum and opportunities that serve all students. Leadership that promotes a positive environment for access to ideas, programs and progress is essential.

Central Administration or the equivalent experience is required, as well as, New Jersey certification or eligibility for the certificate.  Superintendent experience is strongly preferred.
