MANAGER OF FAMILY AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Position Summary:  The Manager of Family and Community Engagement will increase family and community involvement, external communication, and partnerships efforts for Chavez Schools. The Manager will collaborate with school leaders to ensure that Chavez meets enrollment and re-enrollment targets; effectively engage family and community stakeholders as partners and supporters of our schools; and build partnerships to support Chavez’s growth and success. 

We are looking for a bridge builder, a person who believes, as we do, that family and community engagement are key drivers of school and scholar success.  A successful candidate is

  • Self-driven and rooted in the DC community
  • Strategic thinker with excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Community Organizer leading Chavez Schools recruitment and enrollment
  • Partnership developer to enhance Chavez Schools’ programs and outreach.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Create and execute a strategic, multi-year plan for increasing student enrollment and building strong relationships with the local community.
  • Collaborate with Network leadership to strategically position Chavez Schools to attract and enroll families. 
  • Create and oversee Chavez Schools’ family and community communications, including marketing, website, parent/family newsletters, and social media.
  • Manage and cultivate external school-based partnerships with local businesses, nonprofit organizations, and community groups to enhance our academic programs and Chavez Schools’ position within the community
