We are seeking experienced, collaborative, early educatorswith a foundation in balanced literacy instruction and a belief that allchildren deserve the power of literacy. As a literacy coach you will sharebest-practices and coach teachers through the most difficult part of learningnew literacy instructional techniques, implementation.

Join CLI's team of over 100 balanced literacycoaches and provide on-on-one professional development to elementary (K-3)teachers in Newark Public Schools. As a literacy coach you will beschool-based on daily basis as an integral part of the district's strategicplan for literacy. You will facilitate professional development, model teachingbest practices, consult on classroom environment, conduct non-evaluativeobservations and work collaboratively with teachers to implement literacystrategies that enable student achievement.

All Literacy Coaches must possess at least 5 years' teaching/coachingexperience (literacy) in a K-3 classroom. A related Master's degree isdesired.All Literacy Coaches must be able to pass the requisite clearancesand background checks.
