Program Manager/Site Supervisor

This position reports to the Office of Planning and Accountability in a midsize urban school district located in the Capital Region of Upstate New York. The After-School Program Manager/Site Supervisor will play a critical role in supporting the partnership between the Schenectady City School District and Capital Region YMCA. The After-School Program Manager/Site Supervisor will establish quality academic and enrichment activities aligned with district's whole-child approach to learning. The After-School Program Manager/Site Supervisor will implement a program with both academic and enrichment opportunities that improve students' literacy skills. This position requires a high degree of creativity, positivity and ability to respond to the needs of diverse learners.

Program Manager/Site Supervisor Expectations
  • Ability to develop relationships and collaborate with diverse families, communities and staff;
  • Ability to develop staff capacity to use culturally responsive practices to assists students in improving their literacy skills;
  • Establish systems for collecting, analyzing and reporting data to measure the success of after-school program;
  • Cultivate a culture that engages in continuous academic and social activities to improve literacy instruction.


Program Manager/Site Supervisor Key Qualities
  • Provides staff opportunities to reflect on instructional practices and modify as necessary to meet the unique needs of all students;
  • Cultivate a culture that is passionate about developing relationships with students in order to excite them about learning;
  • Set high expectations for staff and students;
  • Model for staff the importance of being life-long learners;
  • Ability to motivate in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.

Minimum Qualifications
  1. Experience working with diverse learners in the district on both academic and social needs.
  2. Master's degree.
  3. Teaching and school leadership experience preferred.
  4. SBL/SDL preferred.
