   License and Certification Qualifications: None required.

Education Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.

Experience Qualifications: Three years in an office/clerical environment required. Payroll experience with garnishment knowledge or business/finance preferred

Skills Qualifications: Ability to communicate with others in an effective and tactful manner; ability to exercise independent judgment, troubleshoot, and solve problems; computer applications skills including PeopleSoft and Microsoft Office; ability to maintain records with high degree of accuracy; excellent interpersonal and human relations skills; ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals; ability to write routine correspondence; ability to speak effectively in one-on-one situations with employees; ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute ration and percent; ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations; and ability to represent Gwinnett County Public Schools in a positive and professional manner.

Primary Responsibilities: Provide assistance with processing, reviewing, and verifying employee benefits and deductions and assisting employees with related payroll issues and inquires. Responsible for departmental document imaging.

1. Process, review, and verify benefit and general deduction elections for employees.
a. Produce PeopleSoft reports and queries to verify and ensure employees are properly enrolled and set with correct benefits and deductions.
b. Enter exceptions, corrections, and refunds in the PeopleSoft system.
c. Research benefits and deductions not taken on each payroll processed including contacting employees for resolution.

2. Process and enter employee requests for direct deposit additions, changes, and deletions.

3. Provide customer service and employee counseling concerning benefit and general deduction elections for employees.
a. Review employee personnel files to provide accurate counseling concerning benefits and deductions.
b. Research, review, and respond to customer inquiries regarding adjustments to benefits and deductions on paychecks received.

4. Conduct the employment verification process for government agencies and employees seeking financial loans.

5. Maintain and process employee tax data for federal and Georgia tax information and assist with required reporting.

6. Coordinate the issuance of employee payroll advices, checks, W-2s, 1095-Cs and 1099-Rs.

7. Assist with the collection of information for open records requests and leave data.

8. Receive, organize, and prepare employee records into batches for imaging based on record classification, security level, document, and record types
a. Ensure employee records are scanned, imaged, and processed legibly and accurately.
b. Complete Optical Character Recognition (OCR) scanning for designated records.
c. Index records into complete files using appropriate indexing criteria.

9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is also required to talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee may be required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, and/or reach. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
