Job Description:
We are looking for an Art Teacher to temporarily teach a comprehensive K-12 Art program in our Special Education school. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: Ability to create and implement visual art lessons to a variety of students in grades K-12; implement and maintain classroom management plan to address the diverse needs of our learners while keeping an educationally appropriate classroom environment; complete all necessary reports and documentation as per agency standards; comply with policies, procedures and expectations outlined in the school and agency manuals; participate in all required meetings and school activities as described by program calendar, including but not limited to: Parent/Teacher Conferences, open house, staff meetings, CSE meetings, Red Flag Reviews, etc., and working cooperatively with all departments in our agency and communicate student concerns with the treatment team and supervisor. Must have previous experience teaching art to youth in various age groups; experience working with special needs students is preferred.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree is required for this position. Master's Degree in Education preferred. Must have New York State Teaching Certification in Visual Arts. Additional certification in Students with Disabilities, or Special Education is preferred.
