Compensation: $65,364 - $81,671
Purpose Statement
The purpose of the CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTION COORDINATOR is to plan, align, develop, implement, direct, and evaluate the district"s curriculum and instruction programs and ensure that selected curriculum is supported by data; provide leadership and supervision to various curriculum/instruction support departments; and manage the instructional support functions for the district"s schools.
Essential Functions
- Supervises and evaluates the curriculum/instructional support departments, Postsecondary initiatives, Professional Development, and Visual and Performing Arts, based upon implementation of Board goals, district initiatives, and Superintendent"s direction.
- Develop, conduct and/or arrange for staff development.
- Works collaboratively, provides leadership, direction, and support for the curriculum/instructional support departments to ensure programs approved by the board of trustees are supported by data and fully implemented in all schools.
- Directs and supports the improvement of curriculum through the continuing
- Implements a cycle of curriculum, assessment and textbook review and revision aligned to Board policy.
- Directs, coordinates, implements, and evaluates district instructional programs and professional development program in accordance with state and federal laws, district regulations and other specially funded program requirements.
- Implements the Superintendent"s initiatives regarding curricular and instructional goals and objectives for the district.
- Directs, coordinates and supports implementation of summer school and other after school and credit recovery programs.
- Assist with interviewing and hiring for the purpose of providing efficient departmental operations throughout the District.
- Communicates and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders.
- Obtain and use evaluative findings (including student achievement data) to examine curriculum and instruction program effectiveness.
- Keeps abreast of current and proposed laws and trends related to assigned responsibilities; reviews and proposes legislation affecting school business management in areas of responsibility.

- Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Knowledge of basic computer technology: Microsoft Office, Google Office Suite, Adobe.
- Ability to effectively express ideas verbally and in written form.
- Ability to make effective oral presentations before large groups of people.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by work assignments.
- Ability to interpret data and identify performance gaps.
Required Qualifications
- Master"s degree from an accredited college or university in Educational Leadership or Curriculum and Instruction.
- Michigan Administrator Certification
- Minimum 3 years of successful teaching experience
- Experience with district-level curriculum development
Desired Qualifications
- Elementary or Secondary school site principal and/or district office
