POSITION SUMMARY
The Student Residency Specialist provides support to schools and parents with escalated student enrollment matters, residency verifications, and intra-district student transfers. In conjunction with the APS residency officers, students that do not qualify to attend an Atlanta Public School are referred to the zoned school for enrollment.
• Note: Must have reliable transportation to complete job responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Provides customer service to schools and parents on a variety of student assignment related issues
  • Reviews and certifies the investigative reports completed by residency officers.
  • Conducts meetings with parents to resolve escalated enrollment and residency verification issues.
  • Generates reports to assist in determining the bona-fide residence for APS students.
  • Interprets, prepares, and disseminates information regarding school choice, enrollment and registration.
  • Provides technical expertise and information regarding school choice, enrollment and registration policies and procedures, and responds to related matters as needed.
  • Provides staff development on school choice, enrollment and registration, and residency verification.
  • Facilitates enrollment procedures to include foreign exchange students.
  • Works closely with homeless liaison to support students in transition
  • Required to attend scheduled shift during regular business hours as mandated.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer/data entry skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate clear and courteously by telephone, in person and/or written correspondence.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to problem solve.
  • Must be dependalbe and meet deadlines as required.


Requirements: EDUCATION:
? High School diploma or GED required.
? Associates or Bachelor?s degree preferred.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:
? Valid driver's license and availability of private transportation required.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
? 1 year experience working in a school district preferred.
? 1 or 2 years experience working with school registration preferred.

Compensation: Salary Grade: 125
Salary Range: $49, 173 to $70, 473
Work Days: Annual

FLSA Status: NON-EXEMPT
