John Lewis Invictus Academy will educate 6 th and 7 th graders only for the 2018-2019 academic year. Also, we are actively progressing toward a paperless learning organization, therefore all candidates must be comfortable and coachable to incorporate 21 st century skills within instructional delivery.

A knowledge of general characteristics of children that are moderate, severe or profound intellectually disabled and other related services that may include special transportation, occupational, physical therapies speech, adapted physical education, and technology are required.
Performance Responsibilities:
Requirements: CERTIFICATION: Minimum of SRT4-Certification in Adapted Curriculum Special Education AND
ALL 5 of the Special Education Academic Content Areas (Math, Science, Social Studies, Reading and English) OR Passed the GACE Basic Skills Assessment or have exemption eligibility (ACT/SAT/GRE scores) and passed the Adapted Curriculum Special Education and the Special Education Academic Content Areas (Math, Science, Social Studies, Reading and English). Must hold the Georgia PSC issued Certificate of Eligibility if educator certification not issued in the state of Georgia.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree required with at least a 2.5 GPA
WORK EXPERIENCE: Zero (0) years of teaching experience
Compensation: Salary Grade: SRT4-SRT7
Salary Range: $46, 460 to $91, 688

Performance Responsibilities:
- Instructs students with a moderate, severe, or profound intellectual disabled through lectures, discussions, visual aids, and other effective teaching methods for student comprehension
- Prepares lessons and outlines to use in class that effectively cover the material
- Administers various types of assessments i.e. performance assessments, formal and informal assessments, etc. to monitor student progress and develop an Individualized Educational Plan
- Monitors students in the classroom and throughout the school to maintain order and discipline
- Performs various administrative duties such as taking attendance, organizing the classroom, and recording grades
- Coordinates parent/teacher conferences as needed to review student's performance, behavior and other issues
- Attends faculty meetings and training sessions
- Adheres to local, state and national testing procedures
