TEACHER OF STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES – FULL-TIME
St Joseph’s School for the Blind, a private non-profit and the only school for the blind in New Jersey, has an outstanding opportunity at our dynamic organization.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- New Jersey Certification – Teacher of Students with Disabilities
- Bachelors – Special Education or higher
- Experience with children disabilities preferred
Duties:
- Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
- Develops, plans, and implements IEP for each student in conjunction with the Principal.
- Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
- Attends Pre-IEP and IEP meetings.
- Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
- Participates in planning and implementing of specific behavior interventions.
