Position Overview
Whittle School & Studios is developing the leaders of tomorrow with the skill sets to change the world. Our students will have the support of a World Language Teacher to develop deep local roots and engage in their own culture while learning the language skills to function globally. To ensure strong student ties to their home culture, each campus will operate as a dual-language school (the home language and English). The World Language Teacher will help all students to develop a level of written and oral fluency that will allow them to work and study in another culture. Spanish or Chinese will be the most frequently offered second language choices. Pedagogical skill in language instruction and passion about teaching interdisciplinary content across the curriculum are key attributes of successful candidates for this position.

Qualifications and Attributes

The following are highly desirable qualifications for the listed position:

• Bachelor's degree BA/BS in specific field or post graduate work in subject matter required
• Master's level degree or above in content area preferred
• Linguistic proficiency in Mandarin Chinese required
• Minimum 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in an independent school environment
• Participates in professional learning communities, grade-level teams, and other collaborative communities to design and plan instructions, to improve practice, and to achieve student outcomes
• Drive and energy to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
