Are you a retired School Administrator or Teacher Leader looking for some extra income?

The Essex Westford School District (EWSD), serving Essex Junction, Essex Town, and Westford is looking for substitute School Administrators to work on an "as needed" basis for School Principals in our PreK-8 schools. The primary role of the substitute Principal shall be to handle student behavior issues that are unable to be handled in the classroom, and manage other school crisis. We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:

- A love of working with children a must.
- Experience with Restorative Practices, Developmental Design, PBIS and/or Responsive Classroom preferred.
- Able to remain calm in stressful situations required.
- Able to effectively manage conflict in tactful and respectful manner.
- Interacts with others in a friendly, tactful and positive manner. Sensitive to the feelings of others; patient and understanding. Treats others with dignity and respect.
- Previous school leadership experience or student behavior management experience preferred.

Position pays $150.00/day for short-term assignments.

Candidates without an educator license must be willing and able to successfully complete the Introductory Teacher Training (for Substitute Teachers) program through Frontline Education. For more information about Frontline Education, please Click Here . The cost of the Introductory Teacher Training (for Substitute Teachers) shall be the responsibility of the applicant. Candidates will be paid for a day of substitute teaching upon completion of the courses, EWSD mandatory training and all other employment requirements as outlined below:

As a condition of employment, all selected applicants must complete the requirements for a criminal background check and registry checks. The cost of the checks shall be the responsibility of the applicant.

All selected applicants must also complete EWSD Mandatory Trainings prior to serving as a substitute in our districts. These trainings are provided at no cost to the applicant.
