In order to support Insight PA charter goals of innovation and transformational learning, teachers and other support staff residing within approximately 30 miles of the main office will be expected to work and/or participate in professional development experiences face-to-face in the office 3 days per week. Those employees well outside the 30 mile range will work remotely. Main office is located in Exton, PA.

AS AN ISPA TEACHER, YOU WILL..
  • Take ownership for student's academic progress and attendance, communicating high expectations and showing active interest in student's achievement
  • Prepare students for high stakes standardized tests
  • Conduct live Synchronous Teaching - minimum of 15 hours per week
  • Asynchronously support objectives, including composing/sending emails, planning course objectives, preparing learning plans, and using data to determine student needs
  • Collaborate with local/regional/ national teams and instructional coaches regarding instruction, resources, interventions and data-driven decision making
  • Make self open and available to be coached on a regular basis with administrators and instructional coaches
  • Under guidance from principal and coach, augment course content according to prescribed policies and procedures using appropriate asynchronous and synchronous tools
  • Submit grades and required student work ensuring student academic honesty and integrity
  • Maintain grade book
  • Make placement and promotion decisions by generating formal and informal reports regarding student progress, alerting administrators to concerns about student performance and progress
  • Establish and maintain positive rapport with families and regularly communicate with students and learning coaches/parents on an ongoing regular basis
  • Support learning coaches/parents with student curricular and instructional issues in a virtual classroom environment, in line with academy policies and procedures
  • Support students and learning coaches with the set-up and maintenance of their learning environment including basic computer troubleshooting
  • Understand how both diverse and unique characteristics of students and their families impact required support
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers to ensure that all students are successfully progressing through the program, that parents have a central point of contact, and that tasks are distributed among the stakeholders
  • Respond to students, parents and colleagues in timely manner
  • Organize social and educational activities for students and families, including sponsorship of virtual clubs, outings, marketing events or other extracurricular activities as required
  • Travel to testing sites to proctor State exams

Are you driven by excellence to deliver instruction, support and guidance, manage the learning process, and focus on students' individual needs? If selected, you will participate in a comprehensive new teacher training program for three weeks before the start of school. It is an opportunity to meet colleagues and learn the responsibilities required for delivering curriculum in an online environment. During this training you will also learn how to monitor student progress through K12's learning management system, and to be a partner actively working with students and parents to advance each child's learning.
Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum six (6) months of student teaching experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Appropriate State certification
  • Meets State 's NCLB's Highly Qualified Teacher requirements
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel at least once per month within and between assigned geographic areas to support students, attend regularly scheduled meetings, and participate in school activities, open houses and orientations.
  • An ability to learn new technology tools quickly (e.g., database and web-based tools)

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working with the proposed age group
  • Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology
  • Experience working in a virtual environment.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and tools
  • Experience teaching online (virtual) and/or in a brick-and-mortar environment
  • Familiar with Blackboard Collaborative or other online platforms
