The Senior Manager, National Guidance & Counseling collaborates with national, regional and school level teams in leading the development, implementation, and execution of operational, tactical and strategic plans designed to achieve K12's mission, vision and framework for student support services through guidance and counseling programs..

Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises 2 or more Full-time Equivalent (FTE) regular employees and/or contractors. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

AS A SENIOR MANAGER, NATIONAL GUIDANCE & COUNSELING, YOU WILL..
  • Develop, refine, and improve national virtual school counseling, advisory, and homeroom models. National guidance & counseling model, including:
    • Course offerings & placement approach
    • Postsecondary planning & outcome tracking
    • Socio-Emotional Learning
    • National partnerships around college planning, internships, mentorships, etc.
  • Oversee counseling, advisor, and student support program best practices;
  • Lead organizational efforts & serve as thought leader on college & career planning and SEL;
  • Lead efforts for expansion, and awareness of, schools participating in dual/early college enrollment;
  • Facilitate training and coordinate support for school level counselors in the areas of guidance, learning coach support, and dual enrollment;
  • Responsible for the planning, coordination and oversight of the Family Academic Support Team (FAST) implementation in K12 managed public schools;
  • Works with cross-functional colleagues at K12 and with schools to design, implement, enhance and track effectiveness of engagement strategies and tools for programs such as FAST and CTE.

Requirements
Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in counseling or related field
  • Three (3) or more years of related experience in program and/or project management, and/or educational leadership, and/or counseling OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience and knowledge of counseling and student support programs
  • Strong data and analytics skills

Certificates and Licenses: Certification in school guidance counseling is preferred.
Other Required Qualifications
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of time
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel; Web proficiency.
  • Ability to pass required background check
Desired Qualifications
  • Master's Degree Preferred
  • Certification in school guidance counseling is preferred
