Full-time, 12-month position available in to perform a variety of specialized computer installation and support functions. Below is a summary of the characteristic duties and responsibilities of the position (additional duties may be added):

• Installs and performs minor repairs to hardware, software, and peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications.
• Installs, configures and upgrades operating systems and software, using standard business and administrative packages; may modify specific applications for use in operational departments.
• Installs, assembles and configures computers, monitors, network infrastructure and peripherals such as printers, scanners and related hardware; pulls cables and rewires or directs the rewiring of cables as required for new installations and office reconfiguration.
• Troubleshoots problems with computer systems, including troubleshooting hardware and software, e-mail, network and peripheral equipment problems; makes repairs and corrections where required.
• Acts as a technical resource in assisting users to resolve problems with equipment and data; implements solutions or notifies outsource providers as required.
• Oversee the daily performance of computer systems (e.g. cleaning and maintenance).
• Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cable, operating systems, and appropriate software.
• Maintains and updates district technology hardware inventory
• Maintains record of daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial action taken, and installation activities (e.g. SchoolDude).
• Creates and maintains a district standard user interface.
• Creates and modifies login scripts and manage individual user account on servers.
• Staffs a centralized help desk to facilitate exchange of information and advice as requested.
• Connects, disconnects, and moves all technology related equipment.
• Removes, reuses, or recycles electronic equipment in an environmentally friendly manner.
• Reads technical manuals, confers with users, and conducts computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems and to provide technical assistance and support.
• Confers with staff, users, and management to establish requirements for new systems or modifications.
• Develops training materials and procedures, and/or trains users in the proper use of hardware and software.
• Refers major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or service technicians.
• Works cooperatively with co-workers, faculty, staff, administrators and students under the direction of the Director of Information Technology.
• Assists Network Administrators with the planning, design, research and acquisition of new or upgraded hardware and software systems.

We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:
• Minimum of two years of directly related experience, including computer network experience
• Demonstrated skills and knowledge in computer repair maintenance
• Motivated and able to work independently
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent analytical/problem-solving skills
• Dependable and flexible

Position pays $19.15/hour, 40 hours/week with excellent benefits available including family medical and dental insurance, 30K term life insurance, retirement plan with up to 6% employer contribution, tuition reimbursement, and a competitive paid leave package.
