Performs the skilled journey-level work required to clean, replace filters, install and repair insulation, inspect and replace belts, lube bearings, and perform routine preventive maintenance on boilers and heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) units.

Qualifications:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school, supplemented by completion of an acceptable apprentice-level training program, plus two years of progressively more responsible experience cleaning HVAC units and boiler systems. Can demonstrate knowledge of the methods and skill in the use of equipment, materials, and tools appropriate for cleaning boiler systems or HVAC units; knowledge of the common hazards and necessary safety precautions; knowledge of local, state, and national codes; ability to read and interpret instructions, diagrams, sketches, blueprints, and manufacturers' manuals; capability to estimate time and material needs, determine when repair is not economically practical, and perform routine tasks and arithmetic computations; knowledge of basic computer skills; and strength and dexterity necessary to perform all required tasks including lifting, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions in enclosed and often poorly lighted areas. Valid driver's license with a good driving record. Required to work an evening and/or night shift on a regular basis, accept call-back overtime or regular overtime, and/or agree to assume an emergency call-out list status.
