Education Qualifications: Specialist degree in related field required. Doctorate degree in related field preferred.

Experience Qualifications: Five years successful school, district, and/or related administrative experience with a proven record of successful supervisory/leadership experience required.

Skills Qualifications: Skills in collaborative leadership of individuals and groups; skills in strategic planning; demonstrated abilities in written and oral presentations; proficient in technology applications; demonstrated abilities in human relations and public relations; and ability to implement and effectively communicate instructional strategies and curricula content and delivery in order to lead continuous improvement in teaching and learning at the local schools.

Primary Responsibilities: Responsible for the continuous improvement of teaching and learning resulting in system level advancement of the mission and objectives established by the Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) Board of Education and CEO/Superintendent.

1 Provide instructional leadership.
a. Lead the development and continuous improvement of the Academic Knowledge and Skills (AKS) curriculum as aligned to the Common Core Georgia Performance Standards (CCGPS).
b. Coordinate the functions of the departments of curriculum/instruction, academies, career and technical education, eCLASS transformation, and Innovation and Program Improvement.
c. Ensure coherence across all program areas in the division.
d. Provide direct support for all schools in the areas of curriculum, instruction, academies, career and technical education, eCLASS transformation, and Innovation and Program Improvement.
e. Utilize research and results-based decision-making for the instructional program.
f. Communicate strategic direction for all program improvement initiatives in a collaborative manner.

2. Provide division leadership.
a. Collaborate with other divisions and departments to meet the system's mission and objectives.
b. Supervise and evaluate the work of the Executive Directors of Career and Technical Education, eCLASS Transformation, Innovation and Program Improvement, and all program directors in those areas.
d. Lead the development and management of program budgets.

3. Communicate with internal and external audiences.
a. Articulate and communicate programs and processes across the department.
b. Lead cross department data quality processes, analysis, and reporting of student achievement data.
c. Facilitate the annual GEMS Oversight Committee meeting as an appropriate partnership of community members and professional staff to review AKS revisions and make recommendations to the Associate Superintendent of Curriculum and Instructional Support.
d. Work with federal, state, and community agencies to further GCPS mission, vision, and goals.

4. Oversee the development and implementation of programs designed to support the continued development of teachers, coaches, and other support staff.

5. Oversee the planning, organization, and implementation of the annual Teacher of the Year (TOTY) selection and celebration, Teaching and Learning Conference, Science and Energy Fair, and other instructional events.

6. Represent the Associate Superintendent of Curriculum and Instructional Support as appropriate

7. Perform other duties as assigned.
