The school-based Student Data Systems Specialist (SDSS) is responsible for all school-level data entry and management within their school(s). This includes, but is not limited to, master schedules, student attendance, misconduct, emergency contacts, report cards and interims, daily reporting and student records (green cards). A school-based SDSS will take daily direction from their building principal(s) related to office coverage and clerical support.

Salary:
Secretarial/Clerical Salary Schedule - Level 7 (Starting at $2, 720.50 per month)

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Work Year: 11 Months

Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. In addition the following:

- Proficient in student information systems.

- Prior knowledge/experience in an educational setting

- Prior knowledge/experience with student information systems/databases

- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

- Advanced knowledge in data reporting

- Organizational skills

Residency Requirements: City of Pittsburgh Residency Required

Essential Job Functions:
1. Enter and maintain student schedules in the student information system, based on Principal input.

2. Maintain completeness and quality of student data as required for state and federal reporting and for standardized student testing submissions.

3. Coordinate and facilitate the production of Interim Reports and Report Cards for students.

4. Coordinate and facilitate the production of Interim Reports and Report Cards for students.

5. Maintains accurate attendance records. Maintains accurate dropout information
and assists with reporting requirements. Inputs and revises daily attendance of students as needed.

6. Produce ad-hoc reports as needed.

7. Perform monthly data quality checks to ensure compliance with established procedures.

8. Effectively communicate, both orally and in written form, with all levels of personnel.

9. Perform day to day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and
processing paperwork.

10. Handle confidential data in an appropriate manner.

11. Provide a high level of customer service to all staff, students, and parents.

12. Participate in professional development and trainings.

13. Other duties as assigned.

Additional Job Information:
Physical Demands: This position is primarily sedentary in nature. Employee will be required to operate computer system for data entry, and have the ability to complete necessary paperwork. This position requires minimum physical effort and not subjected to Occupational Health and Safety risks.

Work Environment:
1. Indoors in busy office, working in close proximity to co-workers

2. Frequently required to work at fast pace

3. Requires considerable concentration and creativity.

4. Subject to stress caused by a changing environment, diversity in the organization, tight deadlines and work load.
