Job Description:
This is a summer position working in our Extended School Year program. The Special Needs Counselor will be responsible for offering social and emotional support of the children throughout the day. Specific duties include: leading activities such as hiking, arts and crafts, music, boating, ecological and forestry studies, orienteering, ropes and challenge courses, swimming and other nature-based outdoor activities, assisting the classroom teacher and teacher assistant during academic times of the program, writing reports, encouraging, guiding and monitoring children's social interaction and development throughout the day, and other responsibilities as directed by the teacher.
Positions are available at both the Brewster & Clearpool campuses.
Job Qualifications:
Experience working with children along with a minimum of two years of college with background of Education preferred.
