Job Description:

The Camp Counselor Assistant will assist amp Counselors to provide a fun, supportive and warm atmosphere where camperscan improve their individual potential, gain understanding of others,experience new ideas and develop an appreciation for the environment. This position must be a good role model for campers, develop relationships with each camper within the group, promote positive group interaction, follow established procedures for maintaining campers health and safety, work together with other staff to plan and schedule weekly activities, and other related duties asdirected by the Head Counselor or Camp Supervisor.

Job Qualifications:

Must be 15 years of age, turning 16 years of age by December 15, entering 11 th grade in September 2019, and have successfully completed at least one summer in the Green Chimneys CIT program. Energy and enthusiasm for long days, a desire to work with children outdoors, prior experience working with children, teens or adults in similar setting, outdoor living skills and/or environmental background, ability to accept guidance and supervision, and a willingness to work with and learn from people from different cultures and backgrounds are all essential skills forthis position. Must be able to work as needed from July 1-Aug 9.
