POSITION: School Psychologist #3432

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Hold a valid Initial, Continuing or Advanced License and
  • NASP or APA School Psychology degree - supervised internship
  • NCSP Certificate from the NASP or
  • Valid, current certificate from another state in School Psychology
  • Must be able to stand and work continuously for a minimum of 4 hours per work day.
  • Minimum lifting requirements- 50 pounds (with assistance).
  • Must be able to use arms and hands without restrictions to accommodate the physical, mobility, and ambulatory needs of students.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Access, interpret, graph, and conduct training around DIBELS, MAP, and DSTP
  • Lead & conduct Functional Behavior Assessments and assist in developing Positive Behavior Support Plans
  • Lead & conduct Manifestation Determination meetings
  • Provide individual and/or group counseling as needed
  • Provide Tier 2 and/or Tier 3 intervention strategies for teachers to use with groups of students as needed
  • Assist in identifying appropriate Tier 2 and/or Tier 3 interventions to groups of students
  • Assist teachers in classroom management
  • Assist in determining when and which supports, accommodations, and/or modifications students need to be successful in educational settings
  • Assist with the transition of students with disabilities from alternative placements to the traditional school setting (providing information to teaching staff, counseling parent/student, creating daily/weekly check-in procedures to monitor student, etc.)
  • Administer intelligence, achievement, and other evaluation instruments to individual students
  • Interpret, analyze, and report results and recommendations to parents and IEP team members verbally and in written reports
  • Complete and submit thorough evaluation reports monthly to the Special Services office
  • Submit necessary information to the Cost Recovery office on a monthly basis
  • Coach, support, and/or consult with individual or teams of teachers and/or students regarding progress monitoring, and provide feedback where necessary
  • Communicate & provide assistance with district initiatives: Inclusive practices, RtI, & new IEP
  • Participate in building/district professional development as it relates to curriculum & instruction within the core content areas of ELA, Math, and Behavior when appropriate
  • Serve as a member of building Crisis Team (conduct interviews with children, parents, and teachers as needed following significant events and behaviors, collect info, meet with team)
  • Serve as an integral member of the Instructional Support/Consultative Team and/or PBS Core or Targeted Team
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Services.
