This bilingual K-12 IB School in Beijing is looking for an IBDP Coordinator to join them in August 2019.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
There are four key areas of responsibility:
- Strategic direction and development of the school curriculum
- Teaching and learning
- Leading and managing staff
- Communication and Liaison with parents and faculty
The effectiveness of the IBD Coordinator will be demonstrated by her/his ability to apply professional knowledge, understanding, skills and attributes to the identified tasks below to bring about the desired outcomes.
Strategic direction and development of the school curriculum.
With other members of the CLT the IBD Coordinator will develop a strategic view, within the context of the school"s aims and policies, which guides policies, plans, targets and practices the successful implementation of IB Diploma Programme.
To achieve this, the IBD Coordinator needs:
1. To monitoring possible changes in the IBD through directives from the IBO
2. Proactively lead in following the requirements of the programme through its authorisation cycle.
3. To oversee the development of the ID Diploma Programme
4. Coordinate and develop programmes in Grades 11 -12 in accordance with the Diploma Programme.
5. To liaise effectively with colleagues across the school
6. To monitor the quality and effectiveness of liaison between the Middle Years programme to ensure a seamless transition between to two programmes
7. Ensure the school"s Assessment Policy in relation to the Diploma programme is secure and enacted.
8. Establish and manage any budgetary requirements to ensure the programme is adequately resourced.
9. To identify, promote and register all Professional Development opportunities undertaken by teachers related to the IBDP
Teaching and Learning
With other members of the CLT the IB Diploma Coordinator will promote and model effective teaching strategies across the school.
To achieve this, the IB Diploma Coordinator needs:
1. To monitor the work of staff teaching in Grades 11 & 12 to ensure that they understand and follow the schemes of work and share high expectations about the quality of their teaching including lesson planning.
2. To take action, when necessary, to help improve the quality of teaching and learning in their area.
3. To oversee the monitoring of policies and practices for assessing, recording and reporting on pupil achievement and to work with faculty to ensure this information is used to recognise achievement and target setting.
4. To work with the all colleagues from the other divisions of the school to establish a coherent transition between the Middle Years and Diploma programmes.

Leading and Managing staff
The IB Diploma Coordinator ensures that all those with involvement in teaching in the Diploma area receive the leadership, support, challenge and information necessary to sustain motivation and secure improvement in their teaching.
To achieve this, the IB Diploma Coordinator needs:
1. To provide practical advice, help and support to those working within the Diploma Programme
2. Co-Chair (together with the MYP Coordinator) meetings of the CLT.
3. To take an active role in the process of Performance Management.
4. To help to establish clear expectations and constructive working relationships
5. To help identify the CPD needs of colleagues and to lead any professional development initiatives.
6. Support and develop Job-Alike initiatives
7. To ensure that the SMT are kept well informed about policies, plans and priorities and successes in meeting objectives and targets for upcoming Authorizations/Accreditations.
Community & Liaison
The IB Diploma Coordinator develops the strategic view, within the context of the school"s aims and policies, which guides the plans and practices needed to ensure the teachers, parents and students understand and are involved with the philosophy, practicalities and guiding principles that underpin the Diploma programme.
To achieve this, the IB Diploma Coordinator needs:
1. To liaise with colleagues in the Elementary and High Schools to ensure consistency of approaches to teaching and learning.
2. Coordinate with the CAS Coordinator plus others to ensure that the requirements of the IBD are being met.
3. Communicate with parents at regular intervals and in a practical manner the philosophy and methodology that drives the IBD programme.
4. To meet with parents and students in Grade 10 giving a clear overview of the Diploma programme and advising them of subject choices for the IBD.

Teachers must be certified in teaching in their home countries with a minimum of a Bachelors in Teaching or Bachelors in their own field + teaching certification; Teachers should also have at least 2 years of relevant post-qualification teaching experiences. IB experience is preferred but is not essential as training will be provided.
