POSITION: Manager, Facilities Services #3469 CLOSING DATE: October 24, 2018

LOCATION: Facilities Department--Eden Support Center

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or a minimum of seven (7) years of equivalent work experience in facilities management
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in facilities management and supervision of personnel
  • Broad knowledge of and experience with construction related trades and activities
  • Experience with building operations and custodial/maintenance services
  • Knowledge of Building Automation Systems (Automatic Temperature Controls)
  • Knowledge of school facilities a plus
  • Knowledge of and experience with Maintenance Management Systems
  • Demonstrates experience with project management
  • Demonstrates experience with staff development and training
  • Demonstrates computer literacy (Word/Excel etc.)
  • Experience with procurement in a regulated environment
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously that involve specific time lines
  • Criminal background check and drug screening required prior to employment with the District
  • Must be able to stand and work continuously for a minimum of 4 hours per work day
  • Minimum lifting requirements: 50 pounds (with assistance)
  • Must be able to use arms and hands without restrictions
  • Must report to work on time every work day
  • Must perform all duties as assigned during scheduled work days

Performance Responsibilities include:
  • Work collaboratively with all stakeholders in providing a high level of service and reliability.
  • Establish and maintain positive attitudes, effective communications, and beneficial relations with all School District staff, Board Members, community and government agencies
  • Provide a high level of service and assistance to building leaders around all facilities services including any trade, employment group, and outside vendor
  • Provide leadership, direction, guidance and oversight to Facilities Services staff on operational and fiscal issues related to construction, facility maintenance and custodial services
  • Establish and develop short and long-range goals, objectives and performance standards
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and administering Facilities Services programs including capital improvements, maintenance and custodial
  • Responsible for the inspection of the physical condition of school district buildings for facilities/custodial/operational needs(daytime and evening)Assist in preparation of a Facilities Services budget and ensure the proper accounting for regular expenditures and capital projects across multiple fund sources
  • Develop and manage facilities projects which routinely must be initiated, modified and completed within extremely tight timelines
  • Serve as an integral member of the long-range Capital Improvements team
  • Assist in implementing and administering an energy management program which includes operating and adjusting the Building Automation Systems throughout the District.
  • Assist in district wide Indoor Air Quality Program including conducting investigations, schedule testing, communication to all stakeholders
  • Assist in developing, implementing, administering and supervising the district wide grounds program including snow/ice removal, landscaping, grass cutting
  • Assist in developing, implementing and administering a district wide security system program including card access and surveillance cameras
  • Assist in developing plans for program and/or district wide moves as it relates to district assets (i.e. furniture, equipment, supplies)
  • Determine the effectiveness of products, equipment, standards and programs
  • Purchase and manage maintenance and custodial equipment, tools and inventory
  • Respond to building emergencies
  • Assist in recruitment, hiring, evaluation, and dismissal of Facilities Services personnel
  • Assist in resolution of personnel conflicts in the facilities department
  • Manage and supervise custodial/maintenance personnel in identified buildings
  • Establish and maintain independent analytical decision making and team building skills with employees
  • Organize Facilities Services in-service activities as required
  • Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as may be assigned
