POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the district's Educational Online Program credit recovery and original credit blended learning initiatives The position supports implementation of the software Edgenuity and Apex Learning in all participating schools, providing policies and procedures towards developing an exceptional blended learning environment in all secondary schools.

Brief Description:

This is a PGCEA, Unit I, Table C, 12-Month Position.

Salary Range: $57,338 - $124,582

Detailed Description:

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage the day-to-day administration of Educational Online's personalized programs for student acquisition, program operations, student management, and student/teacher relations and service; act as a liaison for the Area 3 Office to all participating schools;
  • Serving as an advocate for online learners and online teachers;
  • Respond to student inquiries regarding issues related to the administration of the program;
  • Monitor quality assurance controls of all Educational Online Program initiatives;
  • Maintain records of program policies and procedures;
  • Provide administrative support to teachers as needed;
  • Communicate eligibility and registration requirements to stakeholders;
  • Maintaining the online tutorial programs for online faculty;
  • Plan and deliver training opportunities for all online instructors;
  • Create and maintain a database of online faculty;
  • Provide technical/multimedia support to teachers and students for smooth and efficient operations;
  • Coordinate district wide registration for all Educational Online Program programs using established guidelines;
  • Coordinate with the external learning management systems vendor to address all operational issues, academic policies, and procedures;
  • Liaison between the external vendor and department of curriculum and instruction to develop district approved curriculum aligned with Maryland State College and Career Readiness Standards;
  • Communicate the annual online academic calendar including: enrollment and registration deadlines to the external vendor;
  • Participate in weekly cross-functional team meeting via phone or in person; uphold Prince George's County's mission through work performed;
  • Maintain all records regarding online learning to meet institutional processes, policies, state and national guidelines, and accreditation guidelines;
  • Routinely gather, analyze, and present data regarding the online educational programs to the district leadership; and
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Job Requirements:

    QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 2 - 3 years' experience coordinating an online program with middle and/ or high schools students;
  • Ability to organize and arrange work and manage multiple projects to meet deadlines required;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required;
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups at all levels of an organization required; strong problem-solving skills required;
  • Attention to detail and focus on quality required;
  • Advanced computer skills required;
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office and web applications required;
  • Knowledge of trends in the field, such as distance education, course management, social software, collaboration software, and learning objectives preferred; and
  • Ability to create multimedia assets for instructional purposes preferred; expertise with Apex Learning, Edgenuity, Moodle, Google Docs and Classroom, and GoToMeeting required. Experience in conducting district wide professional development for blended learning programs.

  • EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

    Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Education or a related; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform effectively in this position..
