Job Description
The Randolph Public Schools seeks to hire Substitute Paraprofessionals for elementary and secondary levels in ALL content areas for the 2018- 2019 school year.

Overview of Responsibilities
Purpose: The Paraprofessional's role is to help students learn subject matter and /or identified skills that are required for continued improvement in cooperation with the regular classroom teacher. The Paraprofessional will support meaningful instruction for assigned classes and daily tasks. The Paraprofessional performs all duties in concert with the teacher in order to ensure continuity in the day-to-day instruction and to be familiar with age appropriate methodologies and strategies.

Job Summary:
• Actively participate in the educational program and help in classroom management, lesson planning, and recording of student data, as requested.
• Facilitate students' travel from classroom activities and appointments by giving specific directions and monitoring independent travel.
• Manages classroom and provides instruction according to plans as prepared by the classroom teacher
• Creates a classroom environment that is reflective of age appropriate learning and the maturity and interests of the students.
• Participate in staff and /or unit meetings as appropriate.
• Monitor all activities to ensure the safety and well-being of students and inform the teacher of any problems, conflicts and/or issues.
• Work cooperatively with administrative and nursing staff to ensure that program activities are conducted in a safe and professional manner.
• Works with students to help reinforce daily and weekly learning objectives
• Adheres to all Randolph Public Schools policies and procedures
• Uses appropriate judgment to act in the best interest of students at all times
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal/AP and other appropriate administrators

Long term positions available.

Substitute paraprofessionals are employed on an as needed, on-call, day-to-day basis and are not guaranteed work on a regular basis. There are no benefits associated with substitute employment.

Randolph (MA), a town of over 32,000, resting about 10 miles south of downtown Boston, is one of the most diverse communities in the state of Massachusetts and is proud to have the 2015 Massachusetts Milken Educator Award winner. Job Requirements
Qualifications/Preferred Experience:
• Minimum of two years of college or completion of 48 credit hours at an institution of higher education
• Experience working in a diverse, multicultural setting
• Prior experience working with children in a school, community, sports or camp program
• Paraprofessionals must meet the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) highly qualified paraprofessional requirements
• Ability to understand and follow directions
• Excellent communication skills
  • Associate degree preferred
  • Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required
