Job Description
The Randolph Public Schools seeks to hire substitute teachers for the elementary and secondary levels in ALL content areas for the 2018- 2019 school year.

Overview of Responsibilities
Purpose: The Substitute Teacher's role is to help students learn the subject matter and/or skills that are required for continued improvement through scheduled lessons in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. The Substitute will support meaningful instruction for assigned classes. The Substitute Teacher performs all duties of the teacher in order to ensure continuity in the day-to-day instruction of assigned classes and to be familiar with age appropriate methodologies.
Job Summary:
• Manages classroom and provides instruction according to plans as prepared by the classroom teacher
• Creates a classroom environment that is reflective of age appropriate learning and the maturity and interests of the students
• Assumes all aspects of the teacher's daily routine, including distributing and collecting supplies, keeping attendance records, lunchroom duty, recess, etc.
• Works with students to help reinforce daily and weekly learning objectives
• Adheres to all Randolph Public Schools policies and procedures
• Uses appropriate judgment to act in the best interest of students at all times
• Performs other duties as assigned; reports to the Principal

Some opportunities for long term assignments.

Substitute employees are employed on an as needed, on-call, day-to-day basis and are not guaranteed work on a regular basis. There are no benefits associated with substitute employment_ Position Type: Part-time

Randolph (MA), a town of over 32,000, resting about 10 miles south of downtown Boston, is one of the most diverse communities in the state of Massachusetts and is proud to have the 2015 Massachusetts Milken Educator Award winner. Job Requirements
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree
• Detail oriented and is able to follow explicit direction
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
