Assistant MYP Coordinatorr - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - Immediate

This international school was established in 1978 in Kuala Lumpur and has grown to be an IB World School with 2500 pupils spread across 5 campuses in Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, Penang, Ipoh and Subang Jaya. They are looking for an Assistant MYP Coordinator to assist MYPC in managing the process of curriculum review and development for each of the subject groups to ensure continuing MYP quality standards and monitor and review the implementation of MYP subject along with MYPC.

Salaries are dependent on experience and qualifications ranging from RM 4500 - 5500 per month depending on qualifications and experience (~$1,086-1,327/1,393-1,702 CAD) and the school also offer Professional Development, furnished accommodation, airfares (for teacher only) at the beginning and end of contract and hospital coverage. Once resident, tax rates are very low (between about 5 and 15%).

Applicants must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree and teaching qualification such as a Post Graduate Certificate in Education, Masters in Education or Bachelors of Education. Our jobs are not teaching English as a Foreign Language, and a TEFL certificate alone is not sufficient teacher training.

 

You will need:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Education with over 5 years of teaching experience or equivalent. 

• A deep understanding of the IB MYP

• A creative leader with a proven track record of leading mission, vision and strategic plan driven change

• Proven teaching skills in a subject domain, preferably English, Science or Mathematics.

• Successful international experience in MYP teaching and leadership is an added advantage

• MYP examination or MYP workshop leader experience will be viewed favorably

• Strong communication in written and spoken English.
