Job Description
The Elementary classroom teacher will facilitate student success in academic and interpersonal skills through academic courses of study and implement district approved curriculum, documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific needs of students; providing a safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations and goals.

The ideal candidate will:

-Collaborate with school personnel, parents and various community agencies for the purpose of improving the quality of student outcomes, developing solutions and planning curriculum.

-Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.

-Promote equity and appreciation of diversity

-Maintain classroom management

-Promote high standards and expectations for student achievement

-Plan and deliver effective instruction

-Execute the subject matter knowledge requirements specific for Elementary Teachers, including:

• Teaches reading, language arts, social studies, mathematics, science, to students, utilizing the district's course of study and other appropriate learning activities
• Instructs students in citizenship and basic subject matter
• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student
• Uses a variety of instruction strategies, such as inquiry, group discussion, lecture, and discovery
• Translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction
• Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in
• assessing and helping students solve health, attitude, and learning problems
• Creates an effective environment for learning through functional and attractive
displays, bulletin boards, and interest centers
• Selects and requisitions books and instructional aids appropriate for grade level
• Administers group standardized tests in accordance with district and state testing program
• Participates in curriculum development programs as required.

Randolph (MA), a town of over 32,000, resting about 10 miles south of downtown Boston, is one of the most diverse communities in the state of Massachusetts and is proud to have the 2015 Massachusetts Milken Educator Award winner. Job Requirements
-Massachusetts Teacher License in PreK-2 or Elementary 1-6

  • At least 4 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Master degree preferred
  • Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required
