Job Summary
Assist teachers in integrating technology within the curriculum through a hands-on approach. Builds capacity with assigned schools in support of District technology initiatives, technology based interventions and use of data to inform instructional planning through co-planning and co-teaching. Provides instructional training to teachers to support effective delivery of curriculum through the use of technology applications and systems. Support consistent delivery of technology instruction strategies and/or initiatives to teachers as required.
Essential Functions
  • Works with teachers and principals to establish technology-enhanced strategies for improving the delivery of instruction
  • Provides in-classroom and on-site support and instruction in the use of the Instructional Management System (SchoolNet) and related resources.
  • Provides in-classroom follow-up support for professional education.
  • Provides in-classroom support for District-wide technology initiatives and technology literacy standards.
  • Develops strategies that connect curriculum, instruction, assessment and professional development for the effective application of technology to improve teaching and learning.
  • Delivers on-the-spot, in classroom technology instruction.
  • Debriefs with teachers, school leadership teams, and regional staff to analyze and support the technology instruction practices in schools.
  • Plans and administers (in collaboration with the central and regional offices) the implementation of technology instructional strategies to support academic achievement.
  • Develops, designs and delivers technology related professional development for central and regional officers, principals, leadership teams and teachers based on the needs of schools and teachers.
  • Develops strategies that connect curriculum, instruction, assessment and professional development for effective technology intervention to improve teaching and learning.
  • Supports teachers in delivering on-the-spot, in-classroom technology instruction.
Minimum Requirements
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Five years of full-time, paid, professional appointed classroom or site-based teaching experience.
  • Experience providing professional development for teachers in improving instructional practices.
  • Two years of documented experience in a Technology Leadership role at the school, region or district level.
OR
For candidates with the Instructional I teaching certificate
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Five years of full-time, paid, professional appointed classroom or site-based teaching experience.
  • Three years of experience providing professional development for teachers in improving instructional practices.
  • Two years of documented experience in a Technology Leadership role at the school, region or district level.
All work experience related to the position must be included on the resume.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated knowledge of:
  • in depth knowledge of one or more content areas.
  • adult learning theories, techniques, and coaching/mentoring models.
  • current research regarding communities of learners, instructional practices linked to student achievement, differentiated instruction, mentoring, coaching and emergent technologies.
  • principles and practices of sound classroom management and engagement strategies.
Demonstrated skill in:

  • collecting, analyzing and using data.
  • the use of technology to access student assessment results for informing instruction.
Demonstrated ability to :
  • effectively model and incorporate current instructional technology to enhance student learning with demonstrable results.
  • effectively use interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • design and facilitate school led workshops for staff development incorporating new technologies into the current curriculum.
  • provide interventions (strategy groups, conferencing, guided reading groups, etc) based on formal and informal assessment results.

  • build relationships and help teachers feel comfortable with and understand instruction.
  • communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Certificates/Licenses
Possession of a valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Instructional II teaching certificate.
OR
Possession of a valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Instructional I teaching certificate.

Additional Job Information: This is a PFT represented position. The salary grade for this role is 0201. This is a 10-month position.

Selected candidates who meet the qualifications of the position will be invited to participate in an oral interview, from which 100% of the score will be tabulated.
