TIE is a non-profit organization that for over 20 years has been dedicated to the joint mission of helping overseas international schools find qualified teaching staff and helping qualified teachers find positions at these overseas schools. TIE is a service agency for over 600 overseas, international schools around the world (outside the US). Grade levels range from pre-kindergarten to grade 12. Classes, are taught in English and most schools require that teachers are certified in their subject and that they have a minimum of 2 years teaching experience. The International Educator offers three services to help educators find an overseas position: 1.) THE INTERNATIONAL EDUCATOR NEWSPAPER -- Published 5 times a year, TIE features articles and information about overseas schools, and the educators who teach there. Included in the $49 annual subscription cost is full access to the TIE website, as described below, plus a hard-copy of the newspaper. Annual Subscription Cost: $49/year 2.) TIE WEBSITE – An interactive forum that allows job seekers to post their resumes, and search for the latest jobs posted by international schools all over the world. Subscribers can conduct a job search by country, school, or subject matter. This is a timely up-to-the-minute resource for job-hunters because new jobs/positions are posted daily. Annual Subscription Cost: $39/year 3.) INSTANT JOB NOTIFICATION – For an additional fee, ($29/year), subscribers can sign-up for IJN which sends an immediate email notification whenever a new job appears that matches the candidate’s pre-selected criteria. Teachers can select three areas of interest and the service allows them to send their resume as soon as a job opening arrives that meets their preferences -- all with just one click of a button! This gives job-seekers a tremendous leg-up on the competition as they can be one of the first candidates to apply for the job. Annual Subscription Cost: $29/Year (Must be purchased in addition to one of the above subscription options.) The International Educator (TIE) is a subsidiary of the Overseas Schools Assistance Corporation, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting, developing and implementing programs for and in support of international study and education. The following companies and services fall under the auspices of OSAC: • The International Educator (TIE) – a quarterly newspaper featuring articles and information addressing the unique needs of international schools and the people who work in them. • Tieonline.com – TIE’s website, www.tieonline.com that features hundreds of international teaching jobs and allows subscribers to post their resumes on the TIE resume bank. Tieonline is used by international schools throughout the world to recruit and hire qualified teaching staff for their schools. • The PTC (Principals’ Training Center) -- founded in 1989 to meet the professional development needs of leaders in international schools. Over 2500 international educators have participated in PTC training programs. • The TTC (Teacher Training Center) -- which provides training in classroom instructional and assessment strategies, uniquely tailored to the needs of the international school. • The CTC (Counselor Training Center) -- designed for international school counselors and is open to both practicing and aspiring counselors in international schools. • The BTC (Business Training Center) – a training seminar designed for international School business leaders and dedicated to the professional development needs of those providing a wide range of business functions to the international school.
