The mission of Equitas Academy Charter Schools is to provide a structured, achievement-based community that prepares students to graduate from four-year colleges and universities. Equitas Academy has been recognized as a California Distinguished School and Gold Ribbon School by the California Department of Education because of our commitment to data-driven instruction and providing a rigorous and equitable education for all students. We currently serve over 1,200 students and operate two elementary schools and two middle schools in the Pico-Union neighborhood of Los Angeles, with a growth plan to open four additional schools and serve over 3000 students by 2022.

To help us achieve our mission, we are seeking a Curriculum Specialist. The Curriculum Specialist will dramatically increase our ability to serve students as we grow by supporting teachers in curriculum implementation. This person will play a key part in the rollout and implementation of curriculum designed to reach a college-ready bar and ensure implementation is aligned across schools. The ideal candidate should not only be a model of our core values, but also an academic achievement-oriented educator with deeply ingrained optimism and zest for student success.

Primary Responsibilities
• Provides support to teachers with strategies that support the delivery of our curriculum
• Supports and develops teachers in curriculum implementation with frequent observation and feedback
• Collaborates with Academic Team, school directors, and teacher leaders on curriculum planning and implementation to ensure mastery of the standards and appropriate use of curriculum resources
• Assists teachers with data analysis and evaluating student work to diagnose student difficulties and the planning of appropriate intervention strategies for diverse learners
• Helps and develops teachers in intellectually preparing for units and daily lessons
• Works collaboratively with the school directors, Academic Team, and teacher leaders to plan and facilitate professional development
• Engages in other duties relevant to successful curriculum implementation
• Maintains open, transparent, proactive communication with team and builds team culture
• Serves as a role model of Equitas' core values
• Actively supports diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts
• Solves problems strategically while weighing the advantages and disadvantages of each approach with a network-wide lens

Qualifications and Experience
• Deep, passionate, and action-oriented belief in our mission to support all of our scholars to and through college
• Successful manager of an urban classroom who has used structure and high expectations to drive scholar academic success
• Ability to work with a variety of learning abilities, including those with special needs, English Language Learnings, and low skill level in a heterogeneously grouped classroom setting and has demonstrated quantifiable and objective performance gains with these scholars
• Analytical problem solver and basic understanding of data analysis
• Ability to Influence others to produce high quality work in the effort to increase student outcomes and culture
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively
• Ability to transition quickly from individual, detail-oriented projects to collaborative, people-oriented conversations
• California Teaching Credential or out of state equivalent required, clear credential preferred
• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
• At least 3 years of experience in education
