Title: Pre-K Community-Based Teacher
Position Summary:
This is a community Pre-K teacher that will work with Preschool Special Education students in daycare, preschools, homes, or community designated sites and provides instruction for students which will enable them to learn and demonstrate mastery of the Pre-K Content Standards. This position will support the Acheivement Zone, South and Central Learning Communities.
There are currently two Pre-K Community Based Teacher positions available which will serve the South and Central Learning Communities.

- Demonstrates enthusiasm for working with Pre-K studentsProvides content-related and appropriate instruction based on Fulton County's curriculumProvides classroom environment which promotes active learning in subject areaExhibits knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for four and five year oldsCommunicates responsibly with students, parents, colleagues, and school leadershipAccounts for student attendance and punctualityFollows the Operating Guidelines required by Bright from the StartFollows all county, state, and federal policies and proceduresFollows professional ethics in all work-related activitiesAttends all required trainings for Pre-K teachersPrepares adequately for responsibilities to be assumed when absentWorks with parents/guardians in all aspects of the student's educational programFacilitates home-school communication by such means as holding conferences, telephoning, and sending written communicationsIntegrates appropriate technology into classroom instructionAvoids behaviors which detract from staff moralePerforms other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator
Education and Experience:
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education, or any other Bachelor's degree which includes a minimum of 15 semester/25 quarter hours of early childhood education coursework required; OR must hold or be eligible to hold a valid teaching certificate in applicable field
Experience:
- 0-1 year classroom experience required
