Title: Electronic Technician, Transportation

Position Summary:
Performs maintenance, troubleshooting, testing and hardware repair of radios, cameras, computers, laptops, tablets, printers, projectors and other electronic devices in school buses and administrative Transportation buildings

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintains and repairs radios, digital cameras, mobile DVR systems, and other hardware items installed on school busesMaintains and repairs computers, tablets, printers, projectors, and other hardware items in the Transportation officeMaintains repair recordsPerforms hardware upgrades when necessarySets up and configures electronic equipment Attends training classes as required Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator

Education and Experience:
Education:

• High School Diploma or GED required

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in computer and printer hardware repair required

Certification:

• A+ certification required Must be able to gain vendor certifications for items maintained Must have a valid GA driver's license

Minimum Qualifications:

• Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Operating Systems and MS OfficeAbility to use hand tools and test equipmentElectro-mechanical troubleshooting skillsSoftware diagnostic skillsMust be able to understand and follow directions both written and verbalGood communication skills both verbal and writtenMust be able to work variable shifts

Physical Demands:

• Requires extensive walking, standing and bending Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

Salary Information:
Salary Range for 2018-2019

• $36,412 - $42,974

Step placement credit may be granted for up to a maximum of 8 years (Step 9) of prior verifiable experience. Salary placement with Fulton County Schools is non-negotiable. Actual salary placement will be based on Fulton County Board of Education experience calculations from the Non-Teaching Salary Schedule A-235, Professional Scale, Step 1 - Step 9.
