Provisional Appointment

The Program Operations Specialist for the Adult Literacy and English as a Second Language Program oversees the instructional program for approximately 800 students preparing for the High School Equivalency test, developing basic literacy and math skills, preparing to transition to the workforce and/or learning English. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for hiring, observing and evaluating instructors at various sites; scheduling classes; overseeing curriculum; and insuring compliance with grant funding guidelines. The successful candidate will be able to work collaboratively with colleagues, develop and promote new programming responsive to the needs of adult students and the region, and maximize resources to support adult education. The individual should be proficient in computer skills and data analysis.

Classification: Competitive - Civil Service

Qualifications Required:
  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Education or Human Services
    field and five (5) years of full-time paid work experience in the coordination of
    an adult education or employment training development program.
  • Experience with Workforce Development and WIOA Programs

Qualifications Desired:
  • Experience with HSE TASC preparation
