Therapeutic Support Specialist

Status: Regular Full Time (40 hrs/wk)
Job Description:
Therapeutic Support Specialists are responsible for responding to behavioral crisis situations in a timely manner, utilizing proper Therapeutic Crisis Intervention techniques. Specific duties include: Supervision of the dining hall during all meals, supervision and counseling of residents in Therapeutic Support room, record and submit monthly Therapeutic report, review and sign off on all incident reports, process all vehicle requests, assign vans, and ensure that rounds of dorms are conducted routinely. Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of four years related experience, with two of those years as a supervisor. A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Juvenile Justice or Human Services is preferred. Must be willing to train as a Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Trainer. Valid driver's license and certification in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention required. Shifts include nights and weekends. Flexible schedule is necessary as shift hours vary. This position is full time.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Juvenile Justice, or Human Services field preferred. Will consider candidates enrolled in a degree-granting program; a minimum of four years' experience in a residential childcare setting, with at least two years at the supervisory level required. Must be willing to train as a Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Trainer. Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record.
