This position is accountable for HRIS/Payroll entries, processing, and audits as well as personnel records maintenance and compliance. The Payroll Admin is also responsible for delivering effective HR communications and service delivery including responding to walk-in, phone call, and email inquiries related to timesheets, payroll, benefits, policy, and other HR related matters.

Job Functions:
  • Shared responsibility with Associate Director for preparing and processing semi-monthly payroll for 11 company codes for over 700 employees.
  • Coordinating efforts between payroll, human resources, finance and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data into payroll.
  • Handle the administration of the electronic timekeeping system. Setup each employee, validate programs and departments for each employee, and adherence to FLSA; monitor submissions of approved timesheets and time off, ensure valid data transfers to/from payroll.
  • Assist with the collection of new hire paperwork and entering information into the payroll system.
  • Compile internal payroll reports from HR system for dissemination to the finance department.
  • Tracking and auditing of administrative and personnel files, including W4, I-9, benefits and pay information.
  • Serve as a resource and contact for staff, answering basic payroll questions as needed and directing them to appropriate resources, or providing forms and procedures relevant to their immediate needs.
  • Maintaining employee confidence and protecting payroll operations by keeping information confidential.

Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of payroll and tax relevant laws and policies
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities under tight deadlines
  • Action oriented with strong follow-up skills and initiative to correct problems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge and use of MS Office and google
  • Detail-oriented with ability to ensure integrity of information and follow workflow processes
  • Ability to learn quickly, work in a fast paced environment and multi-task effectively

Required Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; in HR or related field preferred

Required Experience:
  • Requires at least 2-4 years of payroll experience
  • Experience with ADP WFN and E-Time preferred
  • Non-profit or education industry experience a plus
