QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High school diploma or GED.
2 Must hold a State of Delaware 0-60 Custodial Certificate, or successfully obtain within 18 months of employment.
3. Perform general custodial work inside and outside of the building.
4. Demonstrated competence for assigned responsibilities.
5. Demonstrated ability to read and write in English and perform basic mathematics, including addition, subtraction, and division.
6. Demonstrate a level of knowledge and/or experience appropriate to the position.
7. Must maintain a neat and clean personal and professional appearance.
8. Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor conditions and temperatures.
9. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; as well as talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, squat, stoop, kneel, twist, reach above the head, reach to ground level, and reach forward. The employee continuously uses hand strength to grasp tools and climb onto ladders. The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk more than the average person while performing the duties of this job.

10. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; such as cleaning supplies, pails and unloading trucks. Occasionally the employee will life and/or move up to 90 pounds; such as salt and bulk furniture. The employee will sometimes push/pull items such as tables, bleachers and scrubbing machines. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
11. Favorable criminal background and child protection registry check for
the candidate offered employment.
12. Tuberculin test.
13. Participation in direct deposit.

Salary Range: From/To: 1. Salary based on State and local salary schedule 2. Benefits in accordance with current Laurel Board policy 3. Pre-Employment physical examination may be required.
