JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position is a 1.0 FTE located at Key School. ** Internal Applicants Only.**

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with administration, teachers, and central office staff.

  • Lead teachers in supporting children from diverse cultural, ethnic, and linguistic backgrounds

  • Assist in identifying and supporting implementation of interventions and extensions as part of the Arlington Tiered System of Support (ATSS)

  • Collaborate, plan and model critical and creative thinking lessons

  • Collaborate, plan and model curriculum designed for advanced learners

  • Work collaboratively with special education teachers, ESOL/HILT teachers and gifted resource teachers to scaffold curriculum to provide access to content for all learners

  • Plan and conduct sessions for administrators, staff, teachers and parents on a variety of topics


EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5 years of successful teaching at more than one grade level with diverse student population

    Experience teaching elementary students.

  • Experience as an instructional coach or extensive experience working knowledge of Professional Learning Communities, Culturally Responsive Teaching, Adaptive Schools, Cognitive Coaching and Arlington Tiered System of Support (ATSS)


  • Experience facilitating data-driven Collaborative Learning Team planning


  • Experience planning and leading professional development for teachers


  • Knowledge of and experience using research based best practices for identifying and nurturing historically underrepresented students for gifted programs


  • Knowledge of differentiation research and strategies


  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, be flexible and a self-directed learner
