The Online Grading Teacher facilitates the education of students in a virtual learning environment. This individual is responsible for analyzing and evaluating student work, providing substantive feedback in a timely manner using the Pittsburgh Public Schools designated rubric. In addition, the Online Grading Teacher may host online tutoring and instructional sessions with individual and/or small groups of students. The Online Grading Teacher is responsible for monitoring and supporting students eligible for services under the McKinney-Vento Act. This individual is responsible for monitoring attendance, completing student attendance improvement conferences, and providing referrals for community supports as necessary.

Instruction will occur after an Online Grading Teacher's regular work day, at a maximum of 2 hours per day. Office hours must be conducted at least four hour per week and completed by 6 p.m. on the day performed. Office hours may include but are not limited to interagency meetings and home visits.

Salary:
Teachers will be compensated with a stipend in accordance with Article 158 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Teachers responsible for a caseload of up to 75 students will be compensated $350/month; teachers responsible for a caseload of greater than 75 students will be compensated $700/month.

Endorsements: Social Worker License

Qualifications:
- Valid Pennsylvania social worker certificate required.

- Demonstrated successful social work experience in K-12 public school.

- Experience educating students in an online environment strongly preferred.

- Online teaching certificate preferred.

- Experience tutoring or working with students in a one-on-one environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to engage with students and parents in a virtual learning environment.

- Ability to learn technical skills, solve hardware/software problems, and find ways to incorporate technology into learning.

- Effective verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to maintain high student achievement/performance.

- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor.

Residency Requirements: No Residency Requirement

Essential Job Functions:
- Communicate with students, parents, and administration while maintaining an appropriate online tone.

- Provide responses in 36 hours to students, parents, and administration.

- Identify students content specific instructional needs and provide remediation.

- Analyze and evaluate online tasks (assignments, quizzes, tests, projects, discussion board, and utilization of online resources).

- Provide consistent substantive feedback on all student assignments and tasks within 36 hours using the Pittsburgh Public Schools designated rubric.

- Expedite and execute submission of student achievement reports and provide a personalized differentiated learning plan (resources, tools, communication, etc.).

- Attend quarterly targeted professional development and training.

- Conduct office hours, at least four (4) hours per week.
