DESCRIPTION:
Intermediate District 287 is seeking college students and recent college graduates for two temporary AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) Tutor positon located at South Education Center. AVID is a research based program designed to enhance the skill set of students from populations that are currently under served by colleges. AVID Tutors will work with groups of 7 students facilitating a process that helps students find their own answers to pressing questions they generate from class. Tutors will receive 16 hours of training prior to meeting with students.
The successful candidates will have:
Education:
College enrolled or recent college graduate.
Preferred Experience:
Tutoring experience specifically in reading and/or math skills.
