POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Intermediate District 287 is seeking qualified candidates for a Pre-Fire/Pre-EMT Vocational Teacher position for the Pathways program located at Hennepin Technical College - Eden Prairie Campus. This class is accountable for instruction and supervision in vocational and occupational subjects to a group of students.

First Semester - Develop curriculum, marketing, programming and certificaiton for pre-Fire and pre-EMT for second semester working approximately .25 FTE for 14-15 weeks.

Second Semester - work .33 or .66 FTE teaching on or two classes, depending on enrollment.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

General Experience:

High School graduation or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and eight (8) years of employment and/or teaching experience in the subject field.

Substitution Allowed:

College training may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equaling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of four (4) years for a Bachelor's degree.

Special Experience:

Incumbents in this class must meet the Minnesota Department of Education requirements to receive initial educator certificate to teach Vocational Education.

LICENSURES, CERTIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

A current vocational license issued by the Minnesota Department of Education in the specific vocational instructional area is required. In addition, some occupational clusters require industry certification.
