    POSITION INFORMATION:
    Locations: High Schools: Bethel, Hampton, Kecoughtan, and Phoebus (1 at each location) Supervisor: Academies of Hampton Extended Learning Time Coordinator Employment Period/Schedule: 12 Months; flexible hours to include after-school, weekends, and school breaks Employment Status: Full-time, grant-funded position. Salary (G-216): Commensurate with experience. Start Date: October 2018

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Provide leadership, coordination, and administrative support to develop and implement the Academies of Hampton Extended Learning Program for assigned high school. The Career Academies Enrichment Coordinator will serve as a collaborative Academy team member and liaison among faculty, students, families, business partners, and community and district leadership to ensure the success of the Academies of Hampton Extended Learning Program.
    • Responsible for coordinating, planning, organizing and facilitating the implementation of the Academies of Hampton Extended Learning Program grant for assigned high school - including activities, calendar of events, budget, program development
    • Recruit, engage and monitor career enrichment student participants
    • Assure documentation of all after-school academic tutoring and instructional hours
    • Assist in the coordination, implementation, and evaluation of the Freshman Summer Bridge for assigned high school
    • Manage the design, implementation, and evaluation of the Sophomore Summer Institute program for assigned high school
    • Manage and support the design, implementation, and assessment of the extended learning career enrichment activities (Freshman Academy 2.0, and Sophomore through Senior Ready for Success) programs to include: project-based learning, challenge-based learning, college, and business site visits, industry tours and other enrichment activities
    • Work collaboratively and in partnership with the Academy team to establish junior and senior internships, apprenticeships, and capstone projects
    • Maintain and develop program monitoring reports and databases for the Virginia Department of Education and Hampton City Schools leadership
    • Assist in training staff and business partners for successful program implementation
    • Collaborate with school leadership teams, Academies of Hampton teams, academy coaches, instructional leaders, and professional learning communities to coordinate the implementation and sustainability of the Academies of Hampton Extended Learning Program


    JOB REQUIREMENTS:
    • Bachelor's degree in a business or education related field required; Master's degree in related field preferred
    • Three years experience in coordinating and planning multiple projects, assignments, activities, and/or events
    • Three years of experience working with businesses, community agencies and/or postsecondary institutions preferred
    • Experience working with adolescents preferred.
    • Strong background in managing multiple projects and duties, and/or coordination of events and activities
    • Ability to organize, plan, and prioritize assignments and timelines
    • Strong coordination and networking skills with various stakeholders
    • Ability to engage stakeholders in the creation of products and activities
    • Effective use of technology and databases for product development, data gathering, report generation, and decision making
    • Ability to analyze, interpret, and summarize data
    • Effective organizational skills and project management experience
    • Effective communication and presentation skills and strategies
    • Ability to evaluate programs and events to develop short and long-term plans
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, families, postsecondary institutions and business/industry professionals
    • Ability to demonstrate initiative and to work independently
    • Innovative thinking that can help achieve the vision and mission of Hampton City Schools and the Academies of Hampton Extended Learning Training Program
    • Working knowledge of college and career readiness preparation, and labor market demands and requirements
    • Working knowledge of business hiring and post-secondary education acceptance requirements
