POSITION SUMMARY

The primary responsibility of the employee is to operate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair district-wide mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems to insure the efficient and safe operation of the buildings within the school district.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to: Director of Buildings/Grounds Supervises: NA

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Perform and maintain mechanical, electrical, plumbing equipment, systems and controls (engines, chillers, boilers, motors, pumps, wiring, ballast, switches, plumbing fixtures, etc.), as well as, masonry, roofing, asphalt, concrete, ceiling, structural and carpentry tasks.Perform inspections per the preventive maintenance schedule to determine actions required.Perform preventive maintenance requirements per the preventive maintenance schedule.Complete work requests as assigned.Investigate and perform emergency repairs as directed.Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in a clean and safe condition.Works with Custodial Services to complete maintenance tasks when required.Works with contractors to correct equipment issues and systems within the district.

Ability to perform a variety of the mechanical, electrical, and building-trades work at a skilled level, but not necessarily at a journeyman's level.Ability to operate snow plowing and salting equipment including snow plowing trucks and tractorsAbility to read and interpret blue printsAbility to operate test equipment for electric, HVAC, water treatment, etc.Possess adequate computer skills and is familiar with Windows-based software.Ability to work and perform in a strong team environment.Ability to bend, lift, and move objects in excess of 75 lbs.Ability to work on a ladder or high placesAbility to pass background and drug screeningMust be reliable and have a strong attendance record.Must have the ability to multitask.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  1. High school diploma and a minimum of 5 years experience in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.Experienced in mechanical, heating and air conditioning, electrical, and structure maintenance.
